Very few people realize the link between weight gain and diabetes. Even cases of gestational diabetes is much greater in patients who are overweight than in those who do not. Type 2, or adult-onset diabetes is more common in people who are overweight than those who have the 'ideal' weight. In fact, nearly 90% of those with type 2 diabetes are overweight. If you have Type 2 diabetes, the best thing you can do to yourself is to get yourself an ideal body weight

You will be amazed at what happens when you decide to stand up and fight for your health.


Get active. Find activities that you like and get out there and do it. Do not make the activities passive activities either. Even if it's just going out to play shuffleboard everyday get out and play. Enjoy your time in the sun. Picking flowers with a small child. Take golf. Doing whatever it takes to get up and move every day in order to remember why you want to live forever in the first place.

Watch what you eat. Garbage, garbage out, right? You have strict dietary requirements once you've been diagnosed with diabetes. This means that you really must follow your dietary restrictions. Learning to live within the boundaries in order to live and enjoy life to the fullest you can. The amazing thing is that there are all kinds of foods available that are friendly to those with diabetes who do not exist just a few years ago. It is quite possible to live and eat quite well with diabetes if you stick to your plan. The most important thing about dieting with diabetes is that you never forget how important this is to do it.

Oprah Winfrey taking 21-day Vegan Diet Challenge will she make it?

Oprah has just affirm that she's embarking on a 21-day vegan  diet. The idea of this diet came from a book, veganist, by the  best-selling writer Kathy Freston.as it seems in the Oprah's talk show,  Oprah was not a vegan supporter and this had built prompting topics  within the online and offline communities.


The question I'm probing you today is whether being a vegan is effective in detox or weight loss?


I  was a vegan when I'm a little bugger and had been until the age of 13. And  it was when I come to eat some meat like chicken or fish. It was by  choice that I've chosen meat again because of the standardize thinking  that a child would need to  consume meat in order for them to grow  healthily. however, I still choose to restrict myself toward food like  beef, pork, mutton, basically the red meat. Sometimes there are period  of time when I'm totally vegan but there are times when I'm eating  meat  too.


The question is whether is there a difference between eating vegan or meat?


From  my experience, whenever I'm vegan for a successive number of days, my  body feels energetic and healthy. That is set when the food I eat  is healthy. It maybe has a psychological cause rather than a real cause I do not really know.


What I can really tell is that it  depends on various factor to decide whether the food you eat will be benefit or harmful effects to your body. Sometimes you are eating  meat and you can still be much healthier than someone who eat vegan.

It  depends on the factors like the cooking method, the food itself, the  side ingredients added, the amount of oil added, the food combination,  and your mood at that point in time. All of these would affect how the  body would react in the short and long run.

 I think  Oprah  would have a successful vegan diet with great howling. With a great chef de cuisine , the food she eats is tempting as well as healthy. Many of the  people find it jaw breaking to flip to vegan diet because they don't have  a great chef de cuisine and a great healthy vegan place to eat! But don't quit  so early. Keep on going!

Healthy Foods which are Not Good for Diet

It is definitely food for a healthy diet. But healthy food is not necessarily good for people who are undergoing a diet program. Because there are some healthy foods that contain calories, sugar and fat that is high enough for people who are dieting.


Breakfast Cereals
Cereals contain nutrients that are good for energy intake in the morning, especially for children. But for dieters, eating cereal is not recommended. Although rich in nutrients, cereals are usually high in calories and contain lots of sugar. If accustomed to breakfast cereal, you can replace it with gandumg bread with a smear of peanut butter.

Dried Fruit and Candied Fruit
Fruit is a healthy food that should be included in the diet. But the fruits that contain lots of sugar is not good for dieters, such as dried fruit. Reduce consumption of dried fruit such as raisins, dates or candied fruit.

Avocado
Avocados are rich in essential vitamins and minerals, is also a source of healthy fat and good cholesterol. But the fruit of this one is also rich in calories are not good for dieting. Just imagine, an avocado can be pocketed 320 calories. It's okay to eat avocado, but not too much.

Banana
Bananas contain potassium which serves to maintain stable blood pressure and reduce the risk of kidney stone formation and bone loss. Bananas are also an alternative snack holder hungry. But there are 120 calories contained therein. If you're in a diet program and a banana is your favorite fruit, just eat half of it.



Fruit juice
People who are dieting are not forbidden to drink fruit juice, but enough to consume as much as one small glass. Do not have fruit juice as the beverage relieving thirst if not hundreds of calories will into your body.

Yogurt
Yogurt is recommended for dieters because it is rich in nutrients. But sometimes some yogurt products contain lots of sugar and artificial flavorings. Before eating them, read nutritional content on product packaging. Choose yogurt with natural flavorings, contain probiotics and fat free.
